Everyone in the world wants to be respected. Man lives not by bread alone, but also by respect. Grandparents in all families require attention, understanding, warmth, praise and respect from their family members. To show a sense of care and regard towards their grandparents Omkarananda Preparatory School celebrated Grandparents Day in a great zeal and enthusiasm on 16th Feb 2013.
In honor of their grandparents children hosted a beautiful cultural program which included a welcome song, a patriotic song, a rain dance and two skits on good manners. In these skits a grandfather helped his grandson to improve his behavior and to achieve success in examination. He surprised everybody when his grandson stood first in the class. Children also tried to please their annoyed grandmother by doing lots of efforts to make her happy through their dance.
Towards the end of the program students offered their handmade greetings and small gifts to their grandparents as a token of love and respect and touched their feet to receive their blessings. The grandparents were very happy as they received a chance to see their grandchildren performing on the stage. The function was concluded by singing the National Anthem. The day was memorable as it was raining and it is rightly said that “nature, like man, sometimes weeps for gladness.”
