Man loves to wonder and that is the seed of science. Science is a tool of social progress, and therefore a great asset to human life. It refuses to believe on the basis of hope because it is a systematic study of facts. Nobody can deny the fact that science has made our life happier, more comfortable and pleasant with its all-pervading effects.
It is said that the universe is full of magical things patiently waiting for our wits to grow sharper. Keeping the same view in mind and to satisfy some of the queries of the students a Science Exhibition was successfully held on the 14th of March, 2013, in Omkarananda Preparatory School. Innovative minds with new ideas came forward. Although the kids don’t study science as a subject, they were keenly interested in preparing models due to the magic that science has created.
They made very simple models with the help of their teachers and demonstrated the scientific facts very effectively. They demonstrated nicely the principle on which their model worked. They made a rainbow spinner, submarine, flagpole, panpipes, three-gear machine, turbine light, Newton’s cradle, camera, vacuum cleaner, electric motor etc. and many more. They also showed magnetic force, ocean currents, dancing grapes, volcano eruption, changing motions, rotation of the earth, electric currents etc., which was thoroughly enjoyed by all visitors and parents.
It is rightly said that as long as men are free to ask what they must, free to say what they think and free to think what they will, freedom can never be lost and science can never regress.
