On 13th Feb 2012, Omkarananda Preparatory School celebrated “the Best of the Year” in a joyous and colorful way. The guests were received with a traditional Tilak and garland.
The start of the celebration was marked with lighting the lamp by Swami Vishveshvarananda Ji in front of Paramahamsa Omkarananda Saraswati ji’s picture.
K.G. students Tamanna Tayal and Tushar Eachpilani welcomed the guests. In their short and sweet welcome address both stole the hearts of the audience.
The cultural program began with a skit presented by the playgroup students. The skit showed that even a powerful opponent can be defeated if we use our wits. The little ones with their performance proved that they are the best.
It was followed by another performance of Aerobics. The spectacular Aerobic drill by the playgroup students left the audience spellbound.
Thereafter, new announcers, Hemant Rawat and Sanskriti Agrawal, took the charge to carry forward the function.
The audience was taken for a nature walk in African forests by Nursery students. A tribal dance was presented which showed the festivity of joy. They mesmerized the audience with their actions.
KG students showed their expertise in the field of yoga by performing some advanced Yoga Asanas. The audience joyously applauded the skill of the young students.
Thereafter a skit was presented by KG students which clearly depicted that one is known from the company one keeps. It makes us good or bad.
Then Juhi Thapliyal and Aditya Rawat took the responsibility to compare further showing their oratory skills.
Thereafter a colorful Punjabi folk dance enthralled the viewers who could not resist from tapping their feet and clapping their hands along with the young dancers.
Another dance item “All is Well” was presented by Nursery students depicting the positive approach towards tough life. This vibrant dance and the synchronized movements of the dancers left everybody dumbstruck.
The venue became very colorful with a creative display of handmade craft items made out of waste material when class KG presented the last, but not the least, musical drill “Heal the World”. A turtle, butterflies, birds, a peacock and flags of various countries symbolized the entire world.
Blessing the students, Revered Swami ji said that the world will be definitely healed if such dedicated teachers take responsibility to accomplish their mission and such extraordinary students are ready to be molded in proper shape.
Vote of thanks was given by Misha Chauhan, a KG student, who thanked everybody for their presence sparing their valuable time. She thanked the teachers for training them so nicely.
Mrs. M. Gupta, the Headmistress, also thanked the students and the staff for their enthusiasm, talent and hard work. The function was over with sweet remembrance of everybody’s share in its success.
