Message by Swami Vishveshwarananda Saraswati President, Omkarananda Ashram Himalayas

There is no phase in life of a human being as critical and delicate as the very young age of a child. It is during that period of life, where much good or much damage could be done. A very harsh word, a particular beating, etc. can have such an impact, that the child – even when grown up – cannot forget the incident. On the other hand, children definitely need to be disciplined with loving care. Allowing the youngsters to do whatever they want, not correcting their manners, overfeeding them with endless sweets, junk food, etc., allowing them to see too often television, will equally have a bad effect. Especially the first few years, say maybe up to the age of 7 or 8, the child is extremely sensitive to any sort of impressions and motivations.

It is exactly here, where our Omkarananda Preparatory School is taking very special care. Through wonderful educational games or through very special plays the child already gets an experience in many fields and will slowly and accurately be prepared for the future. The special motherly care, the love and the dedication the teachers and principal are having for the kids are really outstanding.
